To understand Oman’s circularity potential, it is crucial to examine how materials are managed after use—whether they are recovered and reintegrated into the economy or lost through disposal. High-quality treatments such as recycling, composting, and energy recovery preserve material value and reduce reliance on virgin resources, while low-value treatment like landfilling and incineration reinforce a linear system and increase pollution. Effective waste treatment is therefore key to unlocking value and promoting more circular material use in Oman.
